After working together with a group of crafters that make a variety of goods for a living. Some teaching their craft to a wider community to improve mental health and social skills. It has become apparent that our Pain Relief Balm has influenced their ability to use their hands after initially suffering with the ongoing symptoms of Arthritis.

We first started to position our handcrafted Balm within their store back in 2024. We were one of the first to support their community investment company to engage crafters to make more of their creations. For most small business owners, it is a real headache to know what to do to be seen in an impatient world of Instagram scrolling, online influence on everyday life skills and the ability to shop online. We took a few months to appreciate the stress this would have on the crafters to maintain working to order. Especially with the demand for authentic handmade goods being particularly high since Covid.

Initially our purpose was to create a place where our local supporters of Muscle Mechanics could come and restock their Recovery Kits. However, what we didn’t realise was that the very people in the store were also frequent buyers.

Studying the hands and how dextrous they can be, we noticed that the common ailment to be discussed was Arthritis, either diagnosed or under investigation. Fibromyalgia and the intensity of neck pain that affected how depression levels throughout the day were changeable depending on how well they could work. Some days, crafters would describe not being able to get out of bed. Which would place significant stress on financial ability to sustain their lifestyle.

After using Muscle Mechanics Pain Relief Balm, they reported an improvement in the range of movement to complete the piece they were working on. The ease and comfort experienced enabled the chance to work effectively to get those tasks completed. The hands were able to open and close. Thread needles and hold still without cramp being a factor.

The fluid accumulation around the thumb and finger joints had eased to enable a good bend in the digits. This effect could also be experienced in the wrists and elbows.

It was important to the crafters that the balm could be close by and so they packed it in their bag to take with them to workshops and tutorial sessions. This way it was a topic of discussion for others who had found themselves with the same levels of difficulty.

We enjoyed the discussion of how our Pain Relief Balm could be beneficial to them. But more importantly not to withdraw the sale of the product in their store as we have regular customers that buy. Re establishing the personal touch to people that like to try products before they purchase. All in all, this was a worthwhile investment to learn what our Pain Relief Balm can do beyond sport.

Muscle Mechanics featured on the shirts of The Wales Masters Hockey Team for the European Championships back in May. The team played in Valencia and even though they only lost one game felt the benefits of the Pain Relief Balm after each match and how the Muscle Balm eased muscle tightening before warming up. We hope to continue to grow our presence within hockey over the next twelve months. Such a pleasure to see how the players were using the product and the positive feedback received.

The football youth academy tournaments based locally in Bracknell, enabled Muscle Mechanics to demonstrate how our Balms can help with teenage aches and muscle strains. With some ladies from the previous year returning to buy more because it had been helpful with a series of ankle strains over the last season. It was a unique experience to see our son walk around with his crutches and enjoying the freedom to go and join in on the side line cheering. From last year the youth teams noticed how much he had improved, and this will continue as we design fresh ways to engage the brain to implement exercises to strengthen his core and coordination.

Client testimonial spotlight

“I met Muscle Mechanics at The Wolf Run in April this year. I had some pain on my right hand, they put a pea-sized amount on where the pain was, after a few minutes the pain had gone. I have bought a pack of four off the website, would recommend using it if you are in pain. I have also ordered the bath salts today. Thank you, Muscle Mechanics.”
