Physiotherapist Helen Robson picked up the ‘rising star’ award at a ceremony held last night (10 November) at Newcastle Civic Centre to celebrate the 2022 Dynamites IT and Tech Awards.
The annual awards – now in their ninth year – cover north east England, where Helen is employed by Connect Health, the company which nominated her. She had been shortlisted with five other contenders in the ‘rising star’ category, one of 11 categories listed in the line-up. The risng star category was sponsored by Gateshead College and the organisers sent Helen ‘huge congratulations’.
In a tweet Helen thanked her colleagues – and her ‘long suffering’ wife Aimee Robson – for supporting her on her ‘journey’. About 500 people attended the ceremony.

As well as holding a post as clinical integration and transformation lead at Connect Health, Helen is an associate lecturer in physiotherapy at Teesside University, and also acts as north east honorary chair for the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. Connect Health nominated Helen for ‘leading and delivering complex digital transformation projects whilst aligning all key organisational functions’.
‘Helen has been integral in two large projects, and over 94,195 patients nationally have completed the solutions she has been integral in designing in the last two years,’ the nomination stated.Helen made the transition from holding a ‘completely clinical background’ to an IT environment, the nomination added.
