Consultant respiratory physiotherapist Rachael Moses has broken the mould at the British Thoracic Society (BTS) for the second time in its history.
As the first and only physiotherapist to have served as the BTS’s president – a position she held from 2021 to 2022 – Rachael has now notched up another major achievement by being the first practitioner to feature on the society’s new Respiratory Futures Podcast.
The inaugural full episode of the podcast is hosted by Charlie (Charlotte) Addy, a consultant respiratory clinician who is based at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board’s All Wales Adult Cystic Fibrosis Centre.
The 30-minute podcast is available free of charge on the BTS website and on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon music and a range of other smaller podcast providers.
‘Exciting new development’
Jonathan Bennett, the current BTS president, said: ‘One of the strategic priorities of British Thoracic Society is to “deliver education and continued professional development to the entire multi-professional respiratory team”.’
Dr Bennett added: ‘An exciting new development to help us achieve this is the introduction of The Respiratory Futures Podcast which is freely available to all irrespective of time of day and location. We look forward to growing the podcast and showcasing and sharing the expertise and experiences of our respiratory colleagues.’
