On The Move

Ian McMillan

Brendon Stubbs said he is ‘thrilled’ to be named as one of the most cited and influential mental health researchers in the world.

The London-based physiotherapist and academic appears in a list called Highly Cited Researchers 2020, which was published this week by Clarivate, a US innovations company.

Announcing his news on Linkedin, Dr Stubbs said: ‘I owe a great deal of gratitude to all of the researchers (students doing their MSc through to professors), people with lived experience and the public for keep encouraging me to find better solutions in mental health.

‘This objective recognition is purely a reflection of great teamwork.’

Dr Stubbs is a senior clinical lecturer at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, part of King’s College London. He is one of 30 researchers from the institute to appear on the 2020 list. See their linkedIn Profile here.

Secure hospital work

As well as lecturing and being involved in an impressive number of research studies, Dr Stubbs continues to work clinically in south London and provides a weekly physiotherapy clinic in a secure forensic hospital.

The annual list identifies researchers who have shown ‘significant influence in their chosen field or fields through the publication of multiple, highly-cited papers during the last decade’.

Their names are drawn from the publications that rank in the top 1 per cent by citations for field and publication year in the Web of Science citation index.
