Lisa O’Keefe, Sport England’s executive director of insight, said: ‘We Are Undefeatable was created in response to a deep exploration of the barriers faced by people living with long-term health conditions, responding to their feelings and needs by supporting them to build physical activity into their lives in a way that their condition allows. Our research shows how important this continues to be.’

Referring to the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, Ms O’Keefe added: ‘We’re all in unfamiliar territory, so we feel this insight can be a valuable guide when you’re developing plans and supporting people with health conditions, as well as for activating the We Are Undefeatable campaign.’

An insight pack, which is available to campaign supporters and partners, aims to help them develop their own activation plans. A leaflet and pull-out, designed for people in households that are less, or not, digitally engaged, is being distributed by partners and supporters in their local areas.

A leaflet will be distributed in supermarkets, We Are Undefeatable activation areas and though the campaign’s charity partners – and is also available to download from the supporters’ hub.

Visitors to the hub can also visit an ‘Activation ideas and inspiration’ section, which includes case studies, more information on the 10 targeted activation areas, information and opportunities for workers in the health system, support for the physical activity workforce, details on how partner charities are delivering the campaign, and a portal for partners to report how they support the campaign.
